Stanley Wang is a California high-school student whose experiences between the United States and China, together with service and travel in rural China and Southeast Asia, shaped his interest in educational opportunity, cultural memory, history, public policy, and justice. He develops student-led projects that connect careful thought with sustained, practical service. Stanley grew up moving between countries, languages, school systems, and historical memories. That experience gave him more than one way to describe the world, but it did not automatically make him a bridge between cultures. A bridge, he came to understand, is not created by standing in two places. It is built through the harder work of listening, translating, returning, and accepting responsibility for what one has been able to see.
